Formative: The
teacher will walk around the room answering questions and listening in on
discussions in each group. In addition, if the teacher realizes that certain
students did not understand it, the teacher will go over certain important
concepts once again and ask questions verbally to check for understanding. The
teacher will then collect the assignment and evaluate it for completion and
understanding of material.
Summative:
To determine if the objectives have been met, the teacher will conduct a test
after the Genetics unit is completed on the topics of heredity, transcription, translation, mitosis and meiosis. The test will include a combination of multiple choice questions and short answers. It will determine the students' understanding throughout the unit and determine if the students could apply what has been learned in the
lessons and they will not just regurgitate facts from the lessons.
