Matter with its Many States and Changes
Step 2: Matter Changes are Physical Changes
1. Go back and look at all of the images on the top of each page. These show the changes that take place when states of matter go through changes. These processes have names and the changes that take place are PHYSICAL CHANGES-not CHEMICAL changes!
2. Watch the "abpischool" link below. Read carefully below in the link box which buttons to press.
3. Play with the "BBC Schools" site and change the state of water.
4. Watch the teacher tube video called "Dr. Loopy's Experiments".
5. Read up on dry ice using the link below called "Information on Dry Ice".
6. If you feel like a challenge, try the multiple choice quiz to see how much you know before answering the worksheets.
7. Print out the worksheets called " State Changes 1" and " State Changes 2" attached below. Your teacher may have already provided you with these.
8. Read the 4 pages in the "chem4kids" link. Read below in the link box how to change the pages.
9. Using all the images of the phase changes on the top of these webquest pages, and the information in the links below, complete the two worksheets and show them both to your teacher. Start with #1 and then complete #2. Remember that you need to read four different pages in the "chem4kids" link. They are DETAILED but contain all you need to answer your questions.
10. If you prefer to watch a video and listen to someone read to you, then try the Youtube video "Changing States of Matter" instead.
11. ALL the answers are present in this webquest so watch, listen and read carefully and persevere! You can also use your text book and class notes but make sure that you read the information on these sites as well.
